This monumentwhich saw countless servants of the country march under its gates, from the royal marine to the 2e régiment  d'infanterie coloniale, was mutilated during the bombardmentsof Brestin 1944. A glorious reminder of a glorious past, it has been preserved thanks to the support of the municipality and its mayor maitre Georges Lombard, as well as monsieur l'Ingenieur Général Piquemal, departmental director of construction at the request of the association de défense des sites et monuments de l'Armor.
