Foucarville German prison camp

Continental Central Enclosure n°19 At the end of June 1944 American soldiers under the command of Captain Huntington and aided by 400 German prisoners set up a prison camp here. The camp was equipped with roads and sidewalks, a hospital, a church, electric lighting and a railway line called "le rapide de Foucarville", enabling rations to be distributed in less than 45 minutes.
