Bombardment Telgruc-sur-Mer Mission 601

On September 3, 1944 nearly 400 B-17 Flyfortres bombers of the 8th Us Army Air Force, with more than 1,000 tons of bombs as part of mission 601 bombed the Crozon peninsula including the commune of Telgruc-sur-Mer. A memorial pays tribute to the victims.

Another plaque pays tribute to the American soldiers of the 17th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron.
