Battle of Lesven

On the night of August 25 to 26, 1944 the German soldiers are in Lézongar and try to embark to retreat to Crozon , then Brest. But the resistance fighters are there and the combat begins. At dawn on August 26, the German counterattack is repulsed thanks in particular to the arrival of reinforcements such as the Compagnie de Plogastel-Saint-Germain.
In the afternoon, the Compagnie Briec and FFI arrive as reinforcements with a light armored vehicle to counterattack. At 5:30 pm the Oberleutnant SS commits suicide and the resistance fighters take over 200 prisoners, but leave 21 brothers-in-arms on the field of honor.
