Sainte-Gemmes-le-Robert Cemetery

The Sainte-Gemmes-le-Robert communal cemetery is home to the grave of Australian pilot JJ Fletcher of the Lancaster III "Old Fred The Fox" bomber of the 463 Squadron of the Royal Air Force who died returning from a bombing mission on the Orléans rail depot on June 11, 1944. He had remained at the controls of his bomber to allow the six-member crew to evacuate the aircraft.
The plane crashed at a place called Bois de Crun.
