Sainte Anne d'Auray cemetery

The communal cemetery of Sainte Anne d'Auray houses a monument in memory of the 4 Resistance fighters shot on August 5, 1944:

L' abbé Le Barth,
L'abbé Allanic,
Mr Brianceau,
Mr Le Louer

While the abbés were on a mission to submit a surrender request to the German troops present at Saint-Anne, reinforcements from Pluneret provoked fighting between Germans and Resistance fighters.
In retaliation, Wehrmacht soldiers executed the ci-nommés.
