Saint-Thégonnec Cemetery

The communal cemetery of Saint-Thégonnec houses the graves of six airmen of the Stirling  MK1 of the 75 Squadron of the Royal Air Force shot down by the FLAKon January 23, 1943.

Sergeant Gilbert Franck Mitchell, Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Mechanic, age 36.
Sergeant James Edward Brewster, Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Machine Gunner, 21 years old.
Sergeant Eric Berry,  Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Radio, 20 years old.
Sergeant Peter Douglas Fowler, Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Machine Gunner, 19 years old.
Sergeant James William Schofield, Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Navigator, 33.
Sergeant  Bernard Torrance, Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve, Navigator and Bombardier, 19.

Only Sergeant Robert Miln Kidd, makes it out, will be seen at the funerals of his comrades-in-arms , and will be hidden by Monsieur Roué before returning to England via an escape route that will take him to Spain.
