Va 43 Le Petit Mont

Point d'appui Va43 situated in the department of Morbihan, on the Rhyus peninsula, near Port-Navalo and Crouesty. The Pointe du Petit Mont features a cairn, a megalithic structure whose construction spans almost 7,000 years, first with the building of a low mound and then, around 4500 BC, the construction of a cairn. Between 2700 and 2500 BC, the site is modified by the addition of three cairns, the third of which covers 2 dolmens with corridor.
In 1943, the Germans construct a strongpoint on this strategic site and implant a series of works all around the cairn, but also within it by the addition of a bunker type R635 encompassed within the construction. Nice walk around the point. Remains of several bunkers.
