Occupied in 1940 by the Germans, La redoute is an integral part of the mur de l'atlantique, more precisely of the STP05 support point, and receives its share of concrete fortifications: blockhaus, protective walls.
It will be abandoned by Axis forces on August 18, 1944 without the Allies having to fight.
