Luftwaffe Headquarters

The Detlev-Rohwedder-Haus (formerly Reichsluftfahrtministerium or RLM, i.e. the "Reich Air Ministry") is the building in Berlin that housed Germany's Third Reich Air Ministry under the National Socialist regime. It adjoins the former Prussian Lords' Chamber, which now houses the Bundesrat ("Federal Council"), the upper house of the German parliament. Today, it houses the offices of the Federal Ministry of Finance. It was renamed in 1992 with its present name in honor of Detlev Rohwedder, who was assassinated in 1991, and who was the first director of the Treuhandanstalt, a public body under West German law responsible for the privatization of state-owned enterprises and cooperatives in the former German Democratic Republic, which occupied the building after German reunification.
