In 1943, the organisation Todt began construction of this homing base for V2 missiles launched from the Eperlecques base, with the aim of homing them to their targets and achieving greater accuracy. A second, dummy base was built nearby to decoy the Allies, which was also bombed with "dummy" bombs.
The bombing of the Prédefin radioguidance base began in January 1944.
